Operation Achanak Pune Traffic  SPTM
To enforce discipline among commuters, city traffic police have taken up a drive called Operation Achanak. The exercise entails concealed policing at traffic signals in Kothrud. The modus operandi adopted by the police is to stay hidden from sight at the signals and leap out only when they spot a traffic offender to nab him or her.
The move stems from the belief held by the traffic police that commuters tend to follow rules only when the cops are around and flout them when they feel that the law enforcers are not watching.
“We want to change this habit. Commuters should always follow rules and not because the police is around,” said DCP (Traffic) Manoj Patil. “We will continue with this measure for a few more days to see its impact. If it proves to be a success, we could implement it across the city,” Patil said.
The campaign that started on Wednesday is being carried on with the help of volunteers of Save Pune Traffic Movement (SPTM) and has already trapping over 100 commuters for stopping ahead of the stop line at red signals.

Shree Ram Navmi 2010

Shree Ram Navmi 24th March 2010
Shree Ram Navmi 9th day of Chaitra
Lord Rama is known as the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu takes birth by his own will, when Adharma rules over Dharma. Ram Navmi falls on the 9th day of Chaitra month (March-April). Ramayana is written by the great Valmiki. Valmiki is celebrated as the poet harbinger in Sanskrit literature. Prabhu Rama Chandra was born as the eldest son of Kausalya  and Dasharatha, king of Ayodhya, Rama is referred to as Maryada Purushottama, literally the Perfect Man or Lord of Self-Control or Lord of  Virtue.

Inspiration Center Lord Rama:
Lord Rama was unattached to the kingdom and the wealth he had. When Prabhu Ram Chandra came to know that his father had promised Kaikeyi (mother of Bharata and was the second of King Daśaratha's three wives and a queen  of Ayodhyā) that he would make Bharatha the King of Ayodhyā, Ram without the slightest hesitation accepted his fathers will without any conflict in his mind and took 14 years of exile smilingly. This quality of Rama clearly shows how unattached he was. It also shows that he was truely free to act on what the present moment demanded unconditionally.

Inspiration Center the Great Valmiki:
The Uttara Khanda chapter of the Ramayana tells the story of Valmiki's early life, as an unnamed highway robber. Once, the robber tried to rob the divine sage Narada for the benefit of his family. Narada asked him if his family would share the sin he was incurring due to the robbery. The robber replied positively, but Narada told him to confirm this with his family. The robber asked his family, but none agreed to bear the burden of sin. Dejected, the robber finally understood the truth of life and asked for Narada's forgiveness. Narada taught the robber to worship God. The robber meditated for many years, so much so that ant-hills grew around his body. Finally, a divine voice declared his penance successful, bestowing him with the name "Valmiki": "one born out of ant-hills".

The ten Avatars of Lord Vishnu popularly known as the Dashavatara of Vishnu

   1. Matsya, the fish.
   2. Kurma, the turtle.
   3. Varaha, the boar.
   4. Narasimha, the Man-Lion (Nara = man, simha = lion).
   5. Vamana, the Dwarf Brahmin (priest).
   6. Parashurama, A Sage,Rama with the axe, who appeared in the Treta Yuga.
   7. Rama, Sri Ramachandra, the prince and king of Ayodhya.
   8. Krishna (meaning 'dark colored' or 'all attractive' or the Existence of Bliss, appeared in the Dwapara Yuga along with his brother Balarama. Balarama is included as the eighth Dasavatara which list Krishna as the source of all avatars, svayam bhagavan (this viewpoint is specific to Bhagavata, Gaudiya, Vallabhacarya and Nimbarka sampradayas) .
   9. Buddha, the thinker.
  10. Kalki ("Eternity", or "timeless",destroyer of time or "The Destroyer of foulness"), who is expected to appear at the end of Kali Yuga, the time period in which we currently exist.

Lakshmana is the twin brother of Shatrughna, born in Ayodhya  to Sumitra, the second wife of Dasharatha, king of Kosala. Thus, Rama is the eldest, Bharata is the second, Lakshmana is the third, and Shatrughna is the youngest of the four brothers. Despite being the twin of Shatrughna, Lakshmana is specially attached to Rama, and the duo are inseparable. When Rama marries Sita, Lakshmana married the younger sister of Sita named Urmila.

Gudhi Padwa 2010

Gudhi Padwa Maharashtrian New Year
Gudhi Padwa is the Maharashtrian New Year, it is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month (The months in the Maharashtain Calander are as follows Chaitra (March-April), Vaisakha (April-May), Jyaistha (May-June), Ashadha (June-July), Shravana (July-August), Bhadrapada  (August-September), Ashwin (September-October), Karttika (October-November), Margashirsha (November-December) Pausha (December - January), Magha (January - February), Phalguna (Frbruary - March).

According to the 'Brahma Purana', Gudhi Padwa is the day on which Brahmha created the world and time began to tick from this day forth. (Thinking About Time Before the Big Bang, The Big Bang Theory I am not really sure about who created the BIG BANG, but surely there are some Radical Theories.)
This festival is supposed to mark the beginning of 'Vasant' or Spring. It is believed by that Padwa has come from the Sanskrit root word “ PRADURBHU” meaning crop or the first day of the lunar month. Lord Ram slayed Vali on this day. Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya defeating Ravan on this very day.
On Gudhi Padwa Gudis are also displayed as they are expected to ward off evil and invite prosperity and good luck into the house.  Gudhi Padwa is one among the three and a half auspicious days called as the "Sade teen Muhurtha" (‘Muhurtas’): Gudhipadva, Akshay trutiya and Dasra (Vijayadashmi) each make up one, and the first day of the Hindu lunar month of Kartik comprises half of the three and a half auspicious days "Sade teen Muhurtha".
Neem forms an important part of the festivities and a hot water bath with neem leaves is an age old ritual for the day. The festival is also celebrated as "Ugadi" in Karnataka and Andhrapardesh and "Cheti Chand” by the Sindhi community.
During Gudi Padwa traditionally, families are supposed to begin the festivities by eating the bittersweet leaves of the neem tree. Sometimes, a paste of neem leaves is prepared and mixed with ajwain, gul/gur (known as jaggery in English), and tamarind. All the members of the family consume this paste, which is believed to purify the blood and strengthen the body’s immune system against diseases.
Sweets like Shreekhand and Puri are hot favorites during Gudi Padwa.During Gudi Padwa unfortunately a lot of Neem trees get lopped or cut so that they can be mounted with the gudi. But the Neem is a precious tree indeed. It can withstand drought situations, is recognised as a good insectiside is not too choosy about the soil type it grows in and in the rural setup is acknowledged as the natures dispensary say Prakash Thosre (Director Social Forests Maharashtra state Pune) courtesy Times of India.

Mahatma Gandhi "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
  --  Mahatma Gandhi

Have you ever had a vision for how your local community or state could make some positive changes to clean up the environment, ease traffic congestion, keep the teenagers out of trouble, or help the homeless, well then read on.
Be Inspired
"The idea of transformation is most often
symbolized by the butterfly which takes
a completely different form, “trans-forms”,
from one part of its life to the next."

In its earlier form it is usually a slow, “dull”, earth-bound consumer.
By going within, into its dark chrysalis, for a period of time,
the butterfly emerges to take flight into beauty and grace.

In Norie Huddle's book, “Butterfly” she writes:

The caterpillar’s new cells are called ‘imaginal cells.’
They are so totally different from the caterpillar cells
that his immune system thinks they are enemies… and gobbles them up.

But these new imaginal cells continue to appear. More and more of them!
Pretty soon, the caterpillar’s immune system
cannot destroy them fast enough.
More and more of the imaginal cells survive.
And then an amazing thing happens!

The little tiny lonely imaginal cells start to clump together
into friendly little groups.

Lets be the Change

The little tiny lonely imaginal cells start to clump together
into friendly little groups.

They all resonate together at the same frequency,
passing information from one to another.
Then, after awhile, another amazing thing happens!

The clumps of imaginal cells start to cluster together!
A long string of clumping and clustering imaginal cells,
all resonating at the same frequency,
all passing information from one to another there inside the chrysalis.

Then at some point,
the entire long string of imaginal cells
suddenly realizes all together
that it is something different from the caterpillar.
Something new! Something wonderful!
…and in that realization
is the shout of the birth of the butterfly!

Since the butterfly now “knows” that it is a butterfly,
the little tiny imaginal cells
no longer have to do all those things individual cells must do.
Now they are part of a multi-celled organism—
A FAMILY who can share the work.

Each new butterfly cell can take on a different job—
There is something for everyone to do.
And everyone is important.
And each cell begins to do just that very thing it is most drawn to do.
And every other cell encourages it to do just that.

A great way to organize a butterfly!”
