Pataleshwar Cave Temple

Pataleshwar Caves Pune

The Pataleshwar cave temple is located on Jangli Maharaj road adjacent to the Jangli Maharaj Temple. The temple is also known as Panchaleshvara or Bamburde. It was created in the 8th century by the Rashtrakutas who display a fine craftsmanship in chiseling out a place of residence and worship. This  temple is dedicated to Lard Shiva. The temple is a perfect example of rock-cut architecture. The rock has been cut into pillars, seating areas and similar rooms. The main shrine is a living temple today, with Shiva linga in the center of this little chamber. Along with lord Shiva there are statues of Sita, Rama and Laxmana.

Prepaid Rickshaw Booth Pune

Prepaid Rickshaw Booth Pune

The rickshaw service in the city is receiving  a lot of flak over various issues, be it the refusal of service or rude behaviour. To overcome these problems, RTA is planning to restart a prepaid  rickshaw service within a month’s time. Learning from past experiences  RTA has developed a new software where details of all registered rickshaws  will be available.

The most common complaints registered against rickshaw drivers is of refusing service and over-charging. A pre-paid booth can  be an answer to all these problems. We have finalised the distance of  these spots from rickshaw booths and accordingly fixed up the fares. Apart from this, all the data pertaining to nearly 43000 rickshaws in the city such as the number of the vehicle, name of the owner has be loaded in the computers. This will help in tracking down any illegal rickshaw coming to the booth.”Shinde told, “ We are planning to start the first pre-paid service from Pune station by the end of this month. Nearly 250 rickshaws can be accommodated at this booth. Source:  Pune Mirror

In Case of Complaints

“The complaint can be made on a plain paper or post card. It should carry the name and address of the complainant, number of the auto rickshaw, details of how the rickshaw driver cheated you with exact time and date of the incident and the route on which you had hired the auto rickshaw. The complaint should be then posted on the following address — Region Transport Officer, Sangam Bridge, Pune,” Patil said. “After receiving the letter, we call the complainant and the autorickshaw driver for a hearing. If the autorickshaw drivers are found guilty, RTO either collects fine from them or cancels their driving licences or permits. The entire process is completed in 15 to 30 days,” he said.
