The Pataleshwar cave temple is located on Jangli Maharaj road adjacent to the JangliMaharajTemple. The temple is also known as Panchaleshvara or Bamburde. It was created in the 8th century by the Rashtrakutas who display a fine craftsmanship in chiseling out a place of residence and worship. Thistemple is dedicated to Lard Shiva. The temple is a perfect example of rock-cut architecture. The rock has been cut into pillars, seating areas and similar rooms.The main shrine is a living temple today, with Shiva linga in the center of this little chamber. Along with lord Shiva there are statues of Sita, Rama and Laxmana.
